Research: Part 5/5 - Andy Warhol

Andy Warhol, an American artist who was a leader in creating the Visual Art Movement. Andy, being drawn to media, news, and photographs, creates the art of painting by connecting celebrities to artistic expressions. He was also an author and the founder of Interview Magazine.

In the 1950's, he began showing the art of photography, silk screening, sculpture, film, and music. His style was to show objects and relating them to advertisement. By the beginning of the 1960s, Warhol had become a very successful commercial illustrator. His usage of typography and many different sources of art greatly made him known world-wide.

I think that Andy's work is great, however his style doesn't match mine because it is not that artistic. I would say that he should make more pleasure in the paintings instead of making it a plain objects. However the usage of advertisement and celebrity art is very smart.

Research: Part 4/5 - Wassily Kandinsky

Wassily Kandinsk is a Russian painter and art theorist. He is famously known for his abstract painting. Born in Moscow, he studied law and economics. in 1901 he founded Phalanx, an art group, which he taught students at. He also designed a special curriculum based on the analysis of color and form, developing the ideas stated in on the Spiritual side in Art. He focused on paintings that had colorful backgrounds and floating space in.

He saw abstract art as the ideal visual mode to express the "inner necessity" of the artist and to convey universal human emotions and ideas. I think that he does apply the emotion and artistic theory to his paintings by creating all sort of unique objects. His special objects resemble his thoughts and artistic thoughts.

I think that he does provide the necessary elements of his theory in his arts. Therefore, it is a good source of painting because it conveys his perspective of colors and space. I like the colors in his painting because the give the mood of living. With the weird abstract shapes, it becomes the inner part of a human mind that we see in those paintings.

Research: Part 3/5 - Jackson Pollock

Jackson Pollock, an American painter, is famous for being an abstract painter and using drip painting. As an art major, he enjoyed considerable fame and notoriety. He struggled with alcoholism but recovered after marrying the woman he loved, Lee Kranser, which influenced his life and made him success in his legacy.

In 1936, Pollock used the liquid paint, which he used as pouring one of several techniques on canvases. His love to natural art was his main goal with his paintings. Pollock used hardened brushes, sticks, and even basting syringes as paint applicators. He thought of applying a new dimension by poring paint to his canvas from all directions.

I think that Jackson Pollock is a very talented artist because he uses the creativity of creating a new dimension in his paintings. The element of randomness is also huge in his art. I think that he is successful in creating a great amount in details in a picture that look like a mess. I would prefer if things were easier to distinguish in his paintings, but other than that, his art is great.
